I wanted to provide you with an update regarding ASB, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

🌳 Anti-Social Behaviour at New Inn Nature Reserve 🌳

We are aware of ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) at the Nature Reserve in New Inn and understand the impact this is having on local residents and those who use the area responsibly.

The Nature Reserve is a valuable community asset, providing a peaceful environment for walking, exercise, wildlife appreciation and recreation. Unfortunately, recent reports have included issues such as groups causing nuisance, littering, damage to property, intimidating behaviour and drinking alcohol.

Anti-social behaviour can have a significant effect on the quality of life of others and will not be tolerated. We want to reassure residents that reports are being taken seriously and that local officers will continue to carry out patrols in the area, engage with those involved and take appropriate action where offences are identified.

✅ How you can help:

Report any incidents of anti-social behaviour to us.
If safe to do so, make a note of descriptions, locations and times.
Encourage young people to respect the local environment and those who use it.
Dispose of litter responsibly and help keep the reserve a welcoming place for everyone.

📞 Report ASB

In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, call 999.
For non-emergency incidents, report online or call 101.
Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Working together with local residents, partner agencies and the community, we can help ensure the Nature Reserve remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

If you have concerns about activity in the area, please continue to report it. Your information helps us build a clearer picture of what is happening and enables us to take positive action where required.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police.

The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 aims to put victims first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the best solutions for their local area.

The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour.

These include:

• civil injunctions.
• criminal behaviour orders.
• public spaces protection orders.
• community protection notices.
• dispersal powers.
• closure powers.

The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.gwent.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
